Additive Dosing Cabinet

Gilbarco Veeder-Root tasked STA with developing an additive dosing cabinet for a client in the supermarket retail sector.

Warren explains: “The cabinet is being used to house additives that are added to both the petrol and diesel to convert them into a premium product. Our brief was to develop a GRP cabinet, in Gilbarco’s client’s corporate colours, that was both lockable and used heavy-duty door stays.”

Featuring a bespoke welded stainless steel manifold, the brief also demanded that all valves and flow meters could be isolated, enabling a quick and simple swap out if required. Rubber-lined clamps then support incoming double wall KPS pipework.

Collaborating with Gilbarco throughout the two-month design process, the innovative dosing cabinets are now fully functioning on site.

Terry Everitt, project manager at Gilbarco, explains: “The cabinet STA has developed not only makes installation of the system easier, but more importantly engineers out safety issues during maintenance. This is a perfect example of evolution and not revolution.

“As our client expands its retail offering, the additive dosing cabinet will become a standard component of its forecourt operations.”
