Alex joins the team

Alex Bloomfield has joined STA on the government trainee scheme.

Warren explains: “Having come through the apprenticeship route myself, I have always been keen for STA to help develop youngsters and to give them an opening into engineering.

“The government scheme announced by the Chancellor in the summer enables Alex to undertake 240 hours work experience with us and then we review the opportunities going forward.”

With a long-term goal of becoming an engineer, Alex, aged 16, is loving his new role.  “This is an amazing opportunity for me.  Already I’ve learnt so much.  From picking and wrapping orders to preparing and assembling components, I’ve also been busy working with Craig on the assembly of the emergency cabinets.”

In his spare time Alex is a keen mountain biker and can often be found taking something apart and putting it back together.
