Temporary cradles become gamechanger
Recently STA Technical has been collaborating with Petroassist to develop a temporary adaptable pump cradle that can be swapped in to keep fuel flowing during pump refurbishment programmes.
Warren says: “Richard Whiting of Petroassist was explaining how his supermarket client was keen to keep its pumps flowing during its current refurbishment programme and asked the team here for our recommendations.
“In response, we devised a temporary adaptable cradle that could be easily swapped in to keep the forecourt fully functioning whilst the original pumps are returned for their factory refurb. An unexpected secondary benefit is the temporary cradle also comes into its own for forecourts having to deal with the persistent problem of accident damaged pumps. With damage repair lead times of anything up to eight weeks, our cradle and new pump can be up and running and making money within a morning as long as the pipework hasn’t been compromised.”
Petroassist’s key account manager, Richard Whiting, says of the collaboration: “The benefits of STA’s cradle were immediate. Its simplicity is its strength and the fact it can be used for refurbs and to replace accident damaged pumps is a win win situation. The cradle’s generic design also means it can fit any forecourt configuration and can be kept at the factory in readiness for the next time it’s required.”
Quick to appreciate its benefits, Richard Whiting adds: “Dual purpose, the cradles can be quickly, easily and securely installed. For us STA’s temporary cradles are going to be a cost-effective gamechanger for this particular client, and we hope for many others.”
